Self-medication

Self-medication

The line between recreational and problematic drug use is often blurry. Sometimes, chems are used during sex to avoid feeling the negative effects of use or to deal with difficult emotions. Another snort, drag or slam to avoid feeling the exhaustion or feel comfortable at a sex party where you don’t know anyone.

It can also be tempting to use chems outside of sex dates. A little G to fall asleep; a small pipe of Tina to stay awake at work after an intense weekend or to get through a dinner with a concerned friend.

Be aware of your rationale for using.

Do not use chems to deal with the consequences of your use between sex dates.

Be aware of the comedown effects.

Accept that going all out on chems will cause you to feel bad for days.

Do not solve these consequences by taking more chems.
